The fishing was beyond my expectations; not only for the fish we caught, but the time we shared at the river and the things I learned along the way. Throw in a grizzly, moose, etc, and I had the great Alaskan experience. The lodge and setting were excellent, but its the people I met along the way that made the journey truly special. What a week we’ve had! Mark and I have so enjoyed our first vacation in Alaska ! It certainly won’t be our last! Many thanks to Johnathan and Rachel-you’ve both been completely welcoming and helpful to us. Your ideas and suggestions for things to see and places to go were “right on” and just the thing us newbies from Minnesota needed! We’ve enjoyed our cabin home so much-just beautiful! We’re sure going to miss sitting at the breakfast table watching “Mildred” the moose across the lake. So many breathtaking views here! The fishing here was a blast! And our day on the Little Su, catching our first salmon was an unforgettable experience! From beginning to end, our week has been incredible!! Your lodge is perfect! It is comfortable, decorated in a way that makes one feel right at home, and well-equipped. The lake setting is so beautiful we never tired of it and looked forward to our “relaxing days” in the boat catching trout all day and sometimes into the evening hours. Rachel’s flowers make the day. Above all else, however, is the way Johnathan went out of his way to make our stay so enjoyable! Contacting guides, arranging for the motor home part of our trip, all of the information about where to go and what to do-we could not have had a better time and we will return and will tell others. Four men from California , Ohio , and North Carolina , gathered for fishing—all here to enjoy a 40th birthday present. As with most ardent fishermen, a trip to Alaska is a dream come true. From the moment of our arrival, all anticipations and expectations were exceeded. Johnathan loaned us all necessary fishing equipment and made local fishing arrangements to meet our desires. Our accommodations were excellent. We lived in a fully functional and very well stocked home. Being here early in the May season proved the fishing to be very tough, but we did manage a 25 lb. king, a 90 lb. halibut-and various other saltwater fish. Overall, our stay was an excellent introduction to Alaska . All future guests: Enjoy your stay! You’ll be very well taken care of! --Dan Ingouf

We didn’t have to worry about a thing. Fishing trip, glacier cruise, directions here and there were all taken care of by Johnathan and Rachel. Nothing left for us to worry about. Thanks for the great time! Lake was a blast to pass part of the time here. We hope to return and bring some friends with us. (Catching the 40 lb. king was simply the cherry on top.) Our stay here was one of the most relaxing trips we’ve ever been on, between the great service, the awesome scenery, nobody could ask for more. The most impressive part of our trip however was how Johnathan jumped through hoops to accommodate us, he went much further than any hotel or travel agent could ever dream of and we greatly appreciated it. We want to thank you again for a wonderful week in paradise. As you know we came last year with just Jarrett and this year we were able to convince the girls to come as well. Fishing for salmon on the Little Su and for rainbows in your lake was great, rafting with Nova on the Matanuska River was an adventure we will always treasure, the Matanuska Glacier was breathtaking and exploring along Hwy 1 was a wonderful way to see many of Alaska ’s hidden treasures. I had a great time here relaxing, fishing, relaxing, and fishing. Good fighting trout in this lake, fun fly fishing here, also saw eagles around the lake and heard a loon calling in the night. Saw moose all over here and on Wolverine Rd. Deep sea fishing in Seward was fun and we got our limits. Take a glacier cruise in Whittier, it’s beautiful and the food is very good. My favorite part of our vacation was the ATV adventure through the Talkeetna mountains. It is a beautiful place here and Johnathan is a very kind person and host. --Josh and Byron
